Food and drink

All children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 are entitled to a free meal under the Universal Free School Meal scheme. Each day there is a choice of hot meal, including a vegetarian option as well as the option to have a jacket potato or pasta with tomato and basil sauce. The menu can be found below and is also available from the school office. Dietary requirements can be catered for; please see the school office to discuss this further.

School meals are encouraged but you are also able to provide your child with a packed lunch. All children in Nursery are required to bring a packed lunch, unless they are entitled to Early Years Pupil Premium Funding. Please make sure the contents of packed lunches are nutritionally balanced - do not include sweets or chocolate bars. All children are provided with water at lunchtime so there is no need to pack a drink.

All meals, including packed lunches, need to be booked in advance via ParentPay.

Fruit is provided for all children at break time but children are also able to bring a pot of fruit or vegetables to school to eat at mid morning break as an extra or to add variety to their 5 a day.

Milk is provided for children under five. If your child is over five and you would like them to have milk, please contact the school office as it can be paid for.

All children are encouraged to bring a water bottle which they can access during the day. Bottles should be filled with water only - fizzy drinks, squash or juices are not permitted unless by agreement with your child's teacher.

Please note that in order to promote healthy lifestyles, children are not permitted to bring in sweets or cakes on their birthdays. You are welcome to bring in fruit or other small treats such as stickers, pencils etc.
